The PSAC, in the spirit of solidarity in struggle, takes this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the important past and present contributions of Black people and people of African descent, and also, to acknowledge the discrimination, barriers and challenges that they have and continue to face in Canada.

Despite the many positive contributions to Canada’s history for centuries, people of African descent are still absent in our history books and under-represented in our political and economic institutions.
